Film

2014 - Film Diary
Film: Barton Fink (1991)
Director: Coen Bros.
Rating: 9/10

Short Thoughts:
I’ve been stalling for a week and a half now with writing my thoughts on Barton Fink and I still don’t know what to say. Wow, I really love this film. The whole time the film kept me questioning what will happen next and that’s a plus in my book. There’s these impressionistic images that mean more than what you think it means. It’s great. The first thing I said to myself when finishing was “Whoa, this is Coen Bros. doing Cronenberg, in a way.” What I mean by this is that the Coen Bros. created a surreal film that I thought would go somewhere weird. Both John Turturro and John Goodman are wonderful. I think it’s some of their strongest performances to date. Check out Barton Fink everyone!
